Trying to Teach Cole

I guess Cole doesn't realize that I'm a certified teacher.
He likes doing "school work", but doesn't always believe I'm right.  He often argues with me.
He nearly had me convinced that "flowers" started with a V.  Mostly, because I was tired of arguing with him.
The other day he was standing at the top of a rocky slope and started to jump.  I told him not to do it because he would probably fall.  He squatted down and I could tell he was thinking about it.  Pretty soon, he leaped and fell and scraped up his leg.  The whole time he was crying, he kept saying, "Next time I'll listen to you, Mom."  Several bandaids later, he felt a little better.  I think he also forgot that he was going to listen to me.
Wednesday we went to the zoo, just the two of us.  It was fun.
The playground and the train are still his favorite parts of the zoo.
He's only mildly amused by the animals there.

I had to make him leave the playground to watch the sea lion show.  I thought it was really great.

Cole wasn't as impressed.

So we went  back to the playground.

Daniel in the Lions' Den (or Shark Tank)

I read about Daniel and the lions to the boys and Hadley.  Then we made lion cookies.Except Brewer said he wanted to make a shark instead of a lion.
They didn't turn out exactly like the picture in the cookbook.
Grayson said his was a three-eyed monster.
 And this is Brewer's shark.
Hadley mostly just enjoyed eating the cookie, not decorating it.

Then she had a cookie mishap.  I heard her say, "Uh Oh, Cookie!"
I think she still ate it even though it scattered across the floor.
We also made footprint ghosts, ate some pizza, and played.

This is Hadley's little ghost.  Cole refused to do it because he was "scared".
I'm afraid my "home preschooling" is turning him into a wimpy Mama's boy.

School

I'm trying to teach Cole a little at home.  Notice how he answers, "God" to many of the questions.  Funny.  We still have quite a bit of work to do, but he's starting to get it!  It's a lot of fun. Love him.

Fun With Mia

Mia came to visit us last weekend.
We went to a fundraiser event for a little boy that Michelle knows.
It was at the Nut House, near Catoosa.
It was cold, but so much fun.

They had all kinds of games and great food.

Cole got most excited about the train that came by during the event.

We went to church on Sunday and played until Mia went home.

It was a fun weekend!
