Steph, Alicia, and Diane threw a birthday party for Jesus. It was so much fun.
The kids brought presents that Matt and other Joplin police officers will take to children who may not have much for Christmas this year.
The kids did crafts and listened to stories. Diane had sweet words to say and
Steph said a prayer before we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.
It was a real birthday party, with party favors and hats, and cupcakes and ice cream.
Cole spent the first part of the party trying to convince us that it was
his birthday, not Jesus.
I think he thought he might get more presents.
It was so great to see everyone. I miss them so much!
It was awesome to celebrate the true meaning of this holiday. It brought tears to my eyes to see how the kids really got into it and understood the "reason for the season".
Hopefully this will be an annual event.
