Cole had his first tball practice this evening. I was a little worried Brad would say I was making him prissy by dressing him in an outfit that was too matchy (the outfit also matched the red and black glove he borrowed from Brewer, but I really didn't do that on purpose). Then, as we were getting ready to leave, he brought in this tub full of weeds and said he picked flowers to give all his friends at practice.
Then I had a new worry.
Cole just turned 3 in December so I really didn't have high hopes of him participating very well. He seemed a little nervous when we first got there. Then he saw Grayson and was all better. When Grayson saw him he said, "Cole is my best friend." AWW!Surprisingly, Cole did great. He's got a lot to learn, but he listened and participated the entire time.
Coach Bobby (who is also our campus minister at church) was unbelievable with them.
He was patient and talked right at their level. They learned a lot their first day.
In fact as we were leaving Cole was talking about him and said, "That guy was really nice at me."
He also said on the way home, "I really liked digging in the dirt." I asked him if that was his favorite part and he answered "Yes."
They used several of the dads to help them get to each base. I think Brad really enjoyed it!
They took a quick water break and went back to work.
They learned that there are 4 bases. Then they practiced running to each one.
He might be a left handed hitter like his dad.
I loved visiting with all the moms and the boys were so cute to watch. I use the word cute even though Brad doesn't really like me describing baseball that way.
At the end of practice they huddled in and on the count of three they yelled, "I'm a man!" Cole was still doing it when he got home. After the flower picking, it might be a good reminder.
Adorable!!!! I'm glad he loved practice. We'll be there cheering him on at games!
