He's Got a Future

Cole and his friends have been decorating his playhouse with sidewalk chalk.
Some people might think it looks trashy, but I actually think it's pretty adorable!

If anyone needs a decorator, Cole's up for hire!

Fun At The Lake

Saturday was Michelle's birthday and she planned a trip to the lake with us and the Rozzi's.

We went to Skiatook.  It was so beautiful!
We rented a boat and the kids LOVED it!

After riding in the boat for a while, we stopped and went for a swim.

The kids loved jumping off the boat and also loved the dads throwing them off the boat.

The water felt great.

It was a great way to spend time with family and friends!

We were all a little tired by the time we left though!

First Day Cookies

Michelle and I went to pick up the kids on their first day of school.  It seemed like they had a pretty great day!

Then we came back to our house for cookies.  My mom always had homemade cookies on our first day of school (even when I was teaching) and I love carrying on that tradition.
This is Zoe's "these are so delicious" face.

Even though Hadley was a little annoyed that she didn't start her school yet, she still enjoyed the cookies.

A couple of the other neighbors came over too. It's so exciting to hear about their first day!

Off To School

First day of 5th grade and PreK!

The morning went really smooth.  Both kids seemed excited about going and we didn't have any meltdowns.
Cole didn't want to wear the original shirt I picked out because it said "Dino Mite" (it had a dinosaur on it).  He said he didn't want the other kids to see it.  I told him the kids in his class can't read, but he still didn't want to wear it.  No big deal though, we found another one that worked.
I love it that their school day doesn't start until 9:00.  It gives us time in the morning so we don't have to rush.

Cole picked me a flower and was being pretty sweet.

I'm really going to miss them being here with me all day.

I love their school and the people there.  I have complete confidence that they will take care of both of them!

Cole was quiet, but seemed okay.  Mrs. Barr let him sit next to Grayson.
We're having cookies at my house after school to carry on my Mom's tradition.  Can't wait to hear about their day!

Meet the Teacher

We had Meet the Teacher tonight.
Macy went with us.  Unfortunately, Macy and Zoe aren't in the same class this year.
Zoe met her 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Adams, and Cole met his PreK teacher, Mrs. Barr.  This is the only year that they'll be in the same school.

Cole is only going half a day, but it's still a little hard on this Mama.

Zoe's friend Katherine is in her class again and she has some other great girls in there too.

Cole looks weird in these pictures with his friends Mason and Grayson.  He might have been a little nervous. Since our church is also in the school, Cole seems a little confused.  He told Grayson when we got there, "We're not having church today, we're meeting our new teachers."

Zoe asked Cole, "If somebody asks you to play with them what will you say?"  Cole said he'll say, "I guess so, but I'm still going to play with Grayson."

He was pretty shy and a little annoyed that he had to leave his school supplies there, but overall did really well.
Before we left, we visited a couple of Zoe's favorites, Mrs. Eicher and Mrs. Loving.

It's nice that Cole and Zoe are both excited and I feel very comfortable sending them this year.

End of Summer Fun

Last Thursday we went to Seneca.  We pulled up to Mom and Dad's house to find a ditch full of water.  That kept the boys entertained for hours.

Charity already had her fingernail polish out and ready for me to paint her nails.  She had a very specific idea of what she wanted!  She loved it though and said I was the "best sister ever!"

We cleaned the boys up and changed them into dry clothes (Charity pulled Brody's outfit out of Judd's pajama drawer!).  Then they watched TV for a short while.

I love how Cole (and Brewer too) sometimes act like Judd is like every other uncle.  They snuggle with him and sit on his lap.  So cute!

Dad stayed with the little boys and Mom, Charity, Zoe, Blake, and I went shopping.  Mom wanted to get all the grandkids something for back to school.  Cole and Brewer chose to just have Nana pick up their things and skip the shopping!  She got them all cute outfits and Cole a pair of shoes!

Blake drove us around and we laughed and had a good time.  I love hanging out with them!

Friday we got up and headed to Silver Dollar City!

The trip really isn't too bad.  The hardest part is pulling through a drive through to order lunch and dinner with 8 people.  It drives Dad (and the person in the drive through) crazy!

I'm so glad Mom and Dad got season passes this year.  We had a blast, all of us!

I love to watch my dad and Cole together.  Cole shakes and says, "This is so exciting" and Dad grins the entire ride.
Cole even talked Papa into riding the teacups with him.

This is proof that my dad knows how to have a good time!

Dad pushed Judd and Cole and all our bags all over the hills of Silver Dollar City and we could barely keep up with him.  Then, after 6 hours at the park, I see him carrying Cole on his back to their last ride.

He also rode Wildfire (one of the big roller coaster that loops a few times) with me, Blake, and Zoe.  Not bad for a 66 year old guy!
Mom is terrified of the rides, but can sometimes be talked into trying one by the kids.  It is hilarious to ride one with her!  She did the American Plunge and the White Water Rafting ride with us (I think mostly because Cole was riding them and Zoe asked her to go too).  Zoe and Blake rode some rides together.

He even talked her into riding Wildfire.  She was scared to death the first time, but rode it two more times after that!

Blake was resting in the stroller while waiting for the little ones to ride.

His rest didn't last long.  Yep, he's under Judd and Cole.  They love to pick on Blake!

We had such an amazing day and the ride home was easy.  Saturday we hung out for a while.  Dad showed us his pictures and uniform from when he was in the army and his old baseball uniform from elementary.  We had Judd try it on, just for fun!

It was a great time and a fun way to end Summer Vacation!
