Go Rams!

I just happened to be helping at the school on Friday when the Owasso band, cheerleaders, and football players came!  They paraded down the hallway.  It was awesome!  I went down to stand with Cole's PreK class.  They weren't really sure what to think at first.

They started getting a little more excited as the band came closer.

By the time they marched by the kids were clapping and high fiving the high schoolers.  It was pretty adorable!

That evening we went to a tailgate party at the school.  Hadley and Hayden went with us.  Hadley wanted her face painted like a dog.

She was the cutest, little puppy EVER.

Hayden played football with the boys the entire time.
She definitely held her own with them!
One of the boys had to prove that he could pick her up.  Surprisingly she didn't find it that weird.

The fifth graders all painted their face to look like they had facial hair.  I told the girls I actually paid money NOT to look like that!
They were relaxed and having a great time together though!

Zoe let Riley pick what was on her face.

So this is Zoe and Hadley with their faces painted.

Hayden was too busy playing to paint her face.  Cole didn't want his face painted because "it just looks goofy". So far, smiling using your teeth and a painted face are on his list of things that make you look goofy.

We enjoyed hamburgers, popcorn chicken, and fries picnic style.

Macy came and her and Zoe hung out.

And Macy got in on the face painting.  Am I the only one who sees the humor in this picture?  Zoe's giving Macy bunny ears in an attempt to make her look silly.
This rock wall was a little too tempting for a 4 year old boy.  Cole kept trying to scale it.

He was being really sweet to Hadley.  She was being pretty shy so she clung to him.  It was so cute.

Unfortunately, Cole doesn't really like people all up in his business for very long.  He came up to me and said, "Mom, I don't want to date Hadley anymore...she's being annoying."

He was wrong.  She wasn't being annoying.  It was a good evening and a fun time with friends.

Rock Star Day

It's Homecoming Week and the kids are dressing up.  Yesterday was Career Day.  Cole was supposed to be dressed as a train engineer, but he just had on a Thomas the Train shirt and a baseball hat.  Zoe wasn't feeling well and was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie.  I told her to tell everyone she was a stay at home mom.  I don't think she did though.
Today was Rock Star Day.  I was surprised that Cole wanted to dress up.  He even wanted a Mohawk.

Hayden and Brady came over a little early and dressed up.  Hayden went through Zoe's old recital outfits and designed her own look.  I tried to give Brady a Mohawk, but his hair was too long and heavy so we just tied a bandana around his forehead.  He seemed okay with that.

Zoe seemed excited about it and somehow the outfit transformed her attitude too.  She was being kind of crazy!

We snapped a quick picture with our neighbor Reagan before heading out.

Cole was pretty serious on the way to school.  I snapped this picture before he got out of the car and sent it to Mom.  I told her this is what Dad would look like if he dressed up for Rock Star Day.

Cole Says Zoe is Like an Adult

Cole just sweetly told me, "Mom, I won't care if you die because I'll still have Zoe."  I'm not exactly sure how to take that, but I he's right...Zoe will take great care of him.

Go Pokes!

Brad got a call this morning from a coworker asking if we wanted 4 tickets to the OSU football game today! We were thrilled to get the chance to go, so we loaded up and headed to Stillwater.
We arrived about an hour and half before the game started.  We had a great parking spot and seats in the 11th row!
 It was perfect football weather.

We waited outside the gates for about a half hour.
Cole wasn't very patient.

We actually ran into the Welborns while we were waiting.  It was a little awkward because their whole family was dressed in K-State gear.  We got Kendell and Zoe together for a picture anyway!

Standing outside the gate became frustrating for one of us, so we went in the gift shop.  Cole found a few things he wanted.  We didn't get them because they cost too much...and he looked like a goofball.

The moment finally arrived to go into the stadium.  Cole didn't know what to expect because he had never been before.

It was priceless to see his face.  He was in awe!

We found our seats.  They were awesome! The team and cheerleaders were both warming up.  Cole was sitting by me and I kept telling him to watch the cheerleaders' stunts.
After that Brad asked Cole to move down by him.

Cole was especially amazed by how high the players kicked the ball.

Taya and Judd's Stanleys came with us to the game.  I think they enjoyed it, although they didn't say much.

We were one of the first families there, but it filled up fast.  59,000 people joined us!

The game was fun!  I love the cheerleaders, pom girls, band, and all the yelling and cheering!

It was a great atmosphere.

I only embarrassed Zoe a couple of times with my cheering.
She took this picture.  The guy behind me was cracking me up with all of his comments.  I can't repeat most of them.  My favorite was when he yelled, "You should have caught that!  The lady beside me could have caught that!"  Notice the lady beside him is an elderly woman who had a cane.  Even though they didn't know each other, she didn't seem offended.

That's the lady, again, behind Zoe.

Cole was asking if the game was over during the 1st quarter.
As he was turned around pouting, the same guy got fired up and grabbed Cole's head and said, "Hey Cotton Top, you could've caught that! We need you on the field!"  Zoe and I both thought he was going to punch the guy, but he just gave him a dirty look.

It was a very exciting game!
Cole walked around a little with Brad during half time and got a snack and seemed better during the 2nd half of the game.

He even became friends with the guy behind us, who at first annoyed him.

During the 4th quarter he seemed to be trying to figure out the game.
Then he turned around and asked Zoe which color we were.  YIKES!

It was great to be there, especially the four of us together!

AND the Cowboys pulled off a win!

Way to go Pokes!
