Safari Zoo

Lindsay has done such a great job of setting up fun things for us to do this summer.  Today we visited the Safari Sanctuary in Broken Arrow.  We had heard several stories and were warned not to get too close to the animals.  Cole was even nervous about this one!  Maybe he should've been more nervous about the shirtless guy in the background.  He wasn't with our group.
Cole was happy to see his friend "Gwayson", as he calls him.
Zoe was tired from camp, but she actually really liked all the animals.
They had rules for us so the animals wouldn't get too fired up.  They were: No running, no yelling, and no teasing the animals.  We had a huge group of young kids...I was a little worried.
That long white pole had raw chicken on the end of it.  That was how we fed the animals.

It was really hot and a few of the animals just didn't feel like coming out.

Two girls guided us around and told us about each animal.  They said a grandpa had bought this tiger for his 5 year old granddaughter.  Apparently that didn't work out (shocking) so they sold it to the Safari Zoo.  I guess my mom getting Zoe a dog doesn't seem as bad.
They said they got a couple of their big cats from Mike Tyson.

Cole and Grayson really loved playing in the dirt as much (or more) than looking at the animals.

There were a lot of interesting animals to see.

We actually didn't even see all of them.  The little ones got really hot and tired so we went ahead and left.  It was a good trip though and fun to hang out with friends.
