December Fun

Wednesday night at church was Polar Express night.  The kids wore their jammies and presented their golden ticket at the door.
The place looked amazing!  It was very magical.  They watched the movie, drank hot chocolate and even got "snowed" on.  Zoe said it was a lot of fun.  Cole's teacher brought him to me about 10 minutes into the movie.
Today after school Zoe had a blast at Reindeer Rock.  It is an after school event for 3-5 graders at Stone Canyon.  They eat pizza, candy, and drink pop.  They dance and play games too. It was so fun!
These are two of Zoe's good friends from class, Macy and Abby.
All of the kids really got into the dancing and games.  The principal, Mr. Holderman danced and played too.  That guy knows how to have a good time!

After we left Reindeer Rock we went back home, grabbed the boys, and headed to a nursing home in Catoosa.  Brad's bank had collected Christmas items for the residents there so we went to their Christmas party.

They had a crazy elf named "Jingle Bells".  She was all kinds of happy.

But there was the sweetest Santa ever.  He looked like the real thing.  He was adorable! He was great with the residents and the kids.
"Jingle Bells" lead everyone in some songs and pulled the kids up to help.  Cole gave her a dirty look, but Zoe was a good sport.

Then Mr. and Mrs. Claus handed out presents to the residents.  They all seemed to enjoy the things they got.
Cole started warming up and having a good time.

Cole even went up to Santa and sat on his lap!
He still wouldn't talk to him and seemed a little nervous.  He looks really uncomfortable in this picture.
It was such a blessing to be there with the residents.
After we left the party, we grabbed a bite to eat and drove around to look at Christmas lights.  We like to grade them.  We saw several "As".  Cole didn't understand the letter grades so he randomly shouted out a series of letters if they were good.  If they didn't decorate their house he gave them an "X".  What a fun time of year!
