Ward Family Vacation

We spent 3 nights in Hot Springs, Arkansas with the Wards.

It was about a 4 hour trip.

I joked that the dogs were the best travelers.

The house was on the lake and it was beautiful.

We took turns cooking each evening and ate all our meals at the house.

When we got there Eldon open the grill and found a rat inside!  Pat and I were ready to call it quits and just forget about cooking on it, but Paula (to our huge surprise) thought we could get the rat out and clean it.  She didn't actually take part in getting it out or cleaning it though!  Brad and Mick took care of it!

The house was amazing.

There were stairs that went right down to the lake.  That kind of made the adults (and Zoe) a little nervous at times.

We swam, fished, and explored in the lake.

Sydney was Zoe's little shadow.  She is ADORABLE!  She continually cracked us up.

When we were getting ready to leave the last day, she made a picture for Zoe that said, "Zoe i LV u".  She gave it to Zoe and said, "This is so you'll remember me."  I told her we wouldn't have trouble remembering her, but she added, "I'll go write my name on it, just in case."

She has a little ornery side too!  She was squirting her mom with a water gun!  I guess the water was a little cold!

Marsha, Alan, and Kerstin came for the first night.  I miss them so much.  I was glad they came and wish they could have stayed longer.
The first day, everyone was down swimming in the water and Cole was in the house with Uncle Alan and Papa Eldon.  He has an old man's soul in a three year old body.

Lance will be in 5th grade next year.  He is only four months older than Zoe, but the way their birthdays fall they are a grade apart in school.

Two of the cutest bottoms ever!  And look at their white hair!

Cole loves Lance and followed him around.  I think Lance taught him a few things!

It was fun hanging out with family.  One evening the girls painted nails and talked.  We were laughing so hard.  We might have been a little tired and giddy at this point!

Monday, the boys played golf and the girls and Cole went to the pool.

It took Cole a while to warm up to the water.  He seems pretty nervous this year.

Monday night Zoe did a 3 trick magic show, Lance did a card trick, and we all told jokes.

Sydney and Cole were the preshow.  They danced to Ice, Ice Baby.  They were really entertaining.

While we were packing Tuesday, Lance and Cole ran and played hide and seek.

After we left the house, we toured Hot Springs with Mick's family.

Lance and Zoe were trying to organize a trade.  Zoe wanted Sydney and Lance wanted Cole.

Cole threw a penny in this fountain and wished for Lance to come to our house.

The water was really hot.  I think it surprised Lance!

We went for a little hike and walked around the town.

We visited some old buildings and shops too.  I love Syd's pose in this picture!

Lance and Zoe were tired of pictures at this point of the vacation.  I teased that Lance is annoyed and Zoe thinks I'm lame.

We stopped for pizza at Rod's before we headed home. Zoe's showing Sydney the mood ring she bought.  I always think it's funny when Zoe gets mood jewelry.  Like we can't tell what Zoe's mood is without the jewelry.

At some point in Lance and Cole's conversation Cole said, "I like Judd the bestest." Lance looked confused and asked, "Did you say you like John the Baptist?"  Cole came home and is still laughing about that.  In fact, he makes Brad and I reenact the conversation.

It was a fun trip!  I love the Ward family!
