Worms are Gross

Our Wacky Wednesday theme this week was WORMS.  Lindsay actually bought worms and she told them some facts about worms.
The boys only hang out with us moms all day so we are trying to help them "man up" a little.  We encouraged them to hold the worms.  Cole did touch the worm but wouldn't hold one.
The boys were totally grossed out by them. None of them held a worm.
I think we pushed it a little too far, at least half of them cried before it was all over.  Kind of destroyed our "man up" moment.

Hadley got to come with us today.  I LOVE HER!  She was so good.
I thought she might actually be the one to hold the worm!

So after studying the worms, we made a worm (okay, caterpillar) craft.

Then we dramatically asked the boys if they wanted to eat worms and dirt.  I thought they would think it was cool.  Cole was crying saying he didn't like dirt and worms.  He never did eat it.  It was his loss though because it was delicious.  Hads devoured it.
Then we wrapped pipe cleaners around each of their fingers and sang.
"5 wiggly worms as wiggly as can be, teasing Mr. Robin, you can't catch me".
We kept singing as Mr. Robin ate each worm.

After we left Lindsay's we dropped Hadley off and then the boys came over.  I thought it was cute because they all three sat together in one chair all afternoon and ate snacks and watched TV.
It was a fun day with friends.

  1. Awwww!!! That is adorable. Thank you for not letting Hads eat worms. I think your man up lesson was a little mean. Worms are disgusting. Cole is no dummy. Ewww.
